GOD EATER is Coming to Town This Summer! Defy the Wrath of God

by

In 2009 Nakano-based animation studio Ufotable released their first preqel video animation of the GOD EATER anime series which finally began airing on July 12, 2015 on Tokyo MXTV. Based on the video game the anime directed by Takayuki Hirao has been running for nine episodes so far, according to Anime News Network.

In summer 2016 BANDAI NAMCO will bring the games GOD EATER Resurrection and GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst to PS4, PS Vita and PCs in Europe, the Middle-East, Africa and Australia.

The games‘ localized versions will take players to the early 2050s, where unknown life forms called “Oracle cells” have begun their uncontrolled consumption of all life on Earth, as their appetite for destruction and remarkable adaptability quickly turns them into the Earth’s biggest foe: Aragamis. These giants are completely immune to conventional weapons, so an elite force, called God Eater, has been formed to take them down by using weapons known as “God Arcs”.

Next to the game and anime, the GOD EATER franchise is also available as a manga and has a quite popular soundtrack. According to Hervé Hoerdt, VP of Marketing and Digital at BANDAI NAMCO, the game has been selling more than 3 million copies in Japan. Quite a few western fans have been waiting to get their hands on a localized edition of this story-driven monster slaying Action-RPG – and soon they can!
